Swimming Hole He said he wanted to stop but he couldn’t Wanted to blame it on her but he wouldn’t He said she’d led him on maybe he wasn’t wrong Tried to resist her but he lost control   She said she wanted to stop but she couldn’t Wanted to blame it on him but she wouldn’t She said he’d led her on maybe she wasn’t wrong Then came the moment when they lost control And they went down in that swimming hole Taking off their shoes (just for good measure) That day was hot, that water was cold Belongings on the bank No one to thank but themselves   They thought they needed some time with each other Although they knew that they each had another The fates had led them on how could destiny be wrong? They let a higher power take control. When they decided that they shouldn’t be lovers That’s when they spotted their significant others  Watching what might occur, hers with his and his with hers Witnessed the moment that they lost control And they went down in that swimming hole Taking off their shoes (just for good measure) That day was hot, that water was cold Belongings on the bank No one to thank but themselves

Swimming Hole

He said he wanted to stop
but he couldn’t
Wanted to blame it on her
but he wouldn’t
He said she’d led him on
maybe he wasn’t wrong
Tried to resist her but he lost control

She said she wanted to stop
but she couldn’t
Wanted to blame it on him
but she wouldn’t
She said he’d led her on
maybe she wasn’t wrong
Then came the moment when they lost control

And they went down in that swimming hole
Taking off their shoes (just for good measure)
That day was hot, that water was cold
Belongings on the bank
No one to thank but themselves

They thought they needed
some time with each other
Although they knew
that they each had another
The fates had led them on
how could destiny be wrong?
They let a higher power take control.

When they decided
that they shouldn’t be lovers
That’s when they spotted
their significant others
Watching what might occur,
hers with his and his with hers
Witnessed the moment that they lost control

And they went down in that swimming hole
Taking off their shoes (just for good measure)
That day was hot, that water was cold
Belongings on the bank
No one to thank but themselves
